Yesterday, on Tuesday April 14th 2026, Student Life and SAB(Student Activity Board) started a book donation in the SV Atrium from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Montgomery College. The event was a week-long, starting from April 13th to April 22nd.

The first person I interviewed was a female student named Adara Echols for her thoughts on the event. Apparently, she works with kids.

“I think it’s cute. I work with kids, and as an educator, I love to do crafts with them and help the kids. It’s kind of a fun class, and we also encourage them to read.” – Adara Echol
The book donation is about giving away books to children, specifically to the less fortunate as an effort to encourage them to read.

Witnessing the workshop, it was clear that everyone involved was as interested in doing bookmarks as the ones doing the event. I talked to someone involved in the event, David Flores about the Bookmark workshop.

“The inspiration raises awareness for literacy. We just want to give books to the kids, because we know it’s been a little drop with the incorporation of technology.” – David Flores
Continuing the interview, David begins to reveal the idea behind the “Bookmarks Workshop”.

“Um, about a month ago, it took some time to finalize the details of the workshop. It was a group effort, so it took us some time to really kind of make a decision on what we were going to do. But then we figured nothing is better than giving bookmarks and books to kids.” – David Flores.
