Throwback Thursday: Phi Theta Kappa May Come Here This Semester

IMG_2206A chapter of Phi Theta Kappa is being considered for Montgomery Junior College. It is expected to be passed in the Faculty meeting this Friday and then the Phi Thetas will have to give their permission.

The Phi Theta Kappa is an honorary schloastic society for Junior Colleges whose members must be in the upper 10 percent of the regularly enrolled student body in the college division; have at least 15 hours; be of good moral character; must have recognized qualities of citizenship as judged by the faculty committee and fraternity members and have at least a semester of college work.

Mr. S.G. Wright, who is pushing the Membership, is a member of Phi Beta Kappa himself and recommends that MJC establish this similar fraternity for Junior Colleges. He says MJC probably will not be admitted until June because of the red-tape involved.
