■ Review: The Inspiration for the Power Rangers – No.1 Sentai Gozyuger – Celebrating 50 Years of Super
Sentai!
The Power Rangers come from a long-storied beginning. They are heavily inspired by a show in Japan called Super Sentai, which this article will explore. This year marks a huge milestone: the Super Sentai series has been on the air for almost 50 years. To celebrate this, the brand that created Super Sentai, The Toei Company, has created the newest season of the Sentai Series, which is called No.1 Sentai Gozyuger. I think this tribute is good, but it can do with some added features. It is packed with nostalgia, magic, and action. This show honors the legacy of Sentai, while introducing new heroes that carry the spirit forward.
Throughout the season, fans have been thrilled to see legendary Red Rangers return: from Battle Japan (Battle Fever J) and VulEagle (SunVulcan) to GaoRed, MagiRed, ShinkenRed, RedBuster, Don Momotaro, and KuwaggaOhger, they are all joining the Universe Warrior Team, which is a collection of the Red Rangers. Even the villains get creative, as Garyudo summons other classic Red Rangers like Spade Ace, Red Turbo, GekiRed, and AkaNinger. The result? An unforgettable lineup that unites heroes from across generations!
Fans are especially excited about the re-transformations, with classic leaders like AkaRanger, Red Hawk, OhRed, AbareRed, and Go-On Red returning to action. It feels like a family reunion of Sentai history that really hits home with nostalgia. I would recommend watching the series, because it gives you an overview of the history of Super Sentai in a short amount of time.
■ Looking Ahead: Magic, Ninjas, and New Powers
There’s already buzz about what’s next for Sentai. Rumor has it that the 50th season will mix Ninja powers and magic—a theme that could blend the energy of Kakuranger and Hurricanger with the fantasy of Magiranger. It has also been said that monsters might be trapped into cards after battle (a twist reminding fans of Kamen Rider Blade and Power Rangers SPD). If true, it would also be the first season without “Sentai” in its title since Choushinsei Flashman from 1986.
“Gozyuger is really good. I love seeing all the Red Rangers team up; it makes it epic. Some of the jokes I roll my eyes at, but they’re still funny. The fights are awesome, and I like the mix of new powers and old ones. I can’t wait to see what comes next — maybe magic ninjas!”

■ If Adapted for Power Rangers…
If Gozyuger ever inspired a Power Rangers season, I think the perfect title would be Power Rangers: Beast Hunters. It would bring together the best parts of past Rangers and colorful zords, from Mighty Morphin’ through Dino Fury — Kakuranger, Hurricanger, Magiranger, and Mystic Force — with new heroes for a new generation.
■ My Final Verdict
■ 9/10 – A legendary celebration for 50 years of heroes!
No.1 Sentai Gozyuger reminds us why Sentai continues to inspire courage, creativity, and friendship around the world.
