As part of ‘Spirit Week’, the Student Activities Board organized an event at the SV Atrium on Thursday, Oct. 30 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. This was the first fest that Montgomery College had
since Fall 2023, and it was one of those moments that you could not forget.

It was great witnessing such joyful reactions from everyone as they participated, dressing up in a costume and interacting with one another.

The food they served was popcorn, churro, and caramel apples. As for the activities, there was pumpkin painting, bean bag tossing and a pie-eating contest. In line for popcorn, I interviewed two students, Nathan Bond and Blaze about the “Fall Fest”.

“I think it looks fun”, Blaze said, and sharing that same feeling, Bond revealed he looks forward to hanging out with friends.
Walking around the place to see everyone dressed up for ‘Costume Day’ was surreal, especially when Spiderman made a pose.

At 3:32 p.m., I got the pleasure of interviewing our very own Advocate member, Kyle Meister and his best friend Madison “Maddie” Veld. I asked them about their reaction to the Fall Fest.

“I just got here, but this place is packed with everybody here. It’s a lot of fun. I see people enjoying themselves. I see food. I hear music, I see people in their costumes, so it’s perfect for the
Halloween special,” Meister stated.
Sharing that same sentiment about the Fall Fest and its exhilarating environment, Maddie told me her thoughts.
“There’s a lot of cool decorations that I like. Halloween is my favorite holiday, and I see that there’s a caramel apple station. The aesthetic is really nice. Everyone is here playing games, and I like the environment,” Veld happily ranted, while expressing her excitement of the event.
Moving along with the interview, our conversation went from reacting to the fall fest to Halloween
plans.
“Well, we’re planning to celebrate Kyle’s birthday tomorrow. So, we’re talking about going ice-skating, going to the movies and then going to dinner. We want to go trick-or-treating even though we’re adults,” stated Veld.
It was great seeing so much excitement from the students at the Fall Fest, whether they are in costumes or not. The festival itself was a success and what a greater way to celebrate Halloween than on the day before Oct. 31!
