The Montgomery College Men’s Soccer Team concluded their 16-5 season following a 3-2 loss to #1 seed Daytona State College on November 13th, and a 3-0 loss to #8 seed Cowley County Community College in the NJCAA Divison 1 Men’s National Championship Tournament.

Despite their early national playoff departure, the 2022 season was filled with accomplishments across the board for members of this year’s MC Raptors. As a team, the Raptors handled business and collected hardware this season capturing the NJCAA East District and the NJCAA Region XX Championships, allowing the squad to reach the NJCAA Division 1 Tournament for the first time since 1990. Some of the team’s stars were also able to achieve accomplishments of their own with six players making the All-Region XX Team (Abdoul Anounkou, Andres Javitt, Ethan Lane, Brian Noutchang, Deric Pocasangre, and Diego Ramirez).

When asked about the season, freshman defender Brian Noutchang called it a benchmark season, stating “we set a new standard for success and what’s expected next season and the years to come for the newer guys.” Noutchang also spoke on the unexpected success this season by stating “we climbed heights no one really expected to reach and left a legacy this season.”

Look for Noutchang and the rest of the Montgomery College Men’s Soccer Team to continue to build off of the success of this past season, and establish themselves as a powerhouse in the NJCAA.
