The NJCAA Region 20 DI Women’s Soccer Semi-final will be played at Montgomery College October 29th 2022. The 2022 soccer season has seen the women’s Raptor team win ten games and lose four. The Raptors are currently on a two-game win streak, and  taking their biggest break between games in lieu of their semi-final game against Hagerstown on the 29th October.

Ed Heberling, Head Coach, has his team buying into his philosophy. In a  September interview he stated, “I really like the team…they’re open to new ideas.” The Raptor team has an impressive 5-1 record on the road with the emphasis on defense. Coach Ed added on “They’re willing to work hard and implement what I try to teach and our defense is kind of strong.” These statements further emphasize the truth. Despite the Raptors having six clean sheets in their first fourteen games, but defense is not the only priority for Coach Ed.

In the fourteen games played the Raptors tallied 29 remarkable goals with 13 assists. Coach Ed stressed that the team needs to work on its build up play, although they scored amazing goals from outside the eighteen yard box. He would like the team to attack with more numbers going forward, explaining, “We’re trying to create 2v1s and 3v2s situations to increase our scoring opportunities…and get behind the backline”

Coach Ed has his team playing the right way and has given fans, his players and students a new sense of ambition to reach nationals.
