Montgomery College student and Covenant Life High School graduate Brandon Quinones was invited onto the Freeman Assists Community with Extra Support (FACES) Advisory Board of the Carl M. Freeman Foundation.
The micro grant foundation, created to support small nonprofit organizations in Montgomery County, invites the Macklin Business Institute honors program to participate in this special initiative.
Montgomery College President Dr. DeRionne Pollard spoke well of the program, saying it is “preparing students to become future leaders by serving them on the FACES Advisory Board, thus creating a rich learning and diverse cultural experience.”
This is an important foundation, as it provides grants to students. The total awarded in 2010 amounts to $40,000.
The Macklin Business Institute honors program offers a business honors education to Montgomery College’s top business students. Founded eleven years ago, the program has welcomed more than 150 students who have transferred to some of the country’s top universities, such as Columbia University and Georgetown University.
