Taste a little bit of Spain five minutes from MC at La Tasca in the Rockville Towne Square.

La Tasca, located at 141 Gibbs Street, is open Sunday through Wednesday from 11:30 AM-10 PM and Thursday through Saturday from 11:30 AM-11PM.

La Tasca’s specialty is tapas, which means small servings. Tapas are La Tasca’s main fare, offering delicacies which include breads, cheeses, vegetables, meat, poultry and seafood.

According to manager Ken Skidmore “One advantage to eating here is tapas.” Skidmore continues, “Instead of eating full meals, diners can create their own meals.”

Skidmore boasts that he is a healthy eater. His favourites are: Espinacas Salteadas – Sautéed spinach with pine nuts and raisins which sells for $6, Ensalada de Tomates con Vinagreta de Miel Tomato goat cheese salad which sells for $7, and Salmon a la Plancha – Grilled Salmon which sells for $7.50.

According to Assistant Manager Milagro Rayes, the most uniquely popular dishes is the Ensalada de Manzana- the apple salad which consists of thinly sliced crisp green apples tossed with slivered almonds, soft tetilla cheese and a lemon quince vinaigrette.

Ensalada de Manzana can be eaten as a tapas or for dessert. It retails for $7.00

The most popular tapas at La Tasca are:
• Buey al Jerez-grilled flank steak $8.50
• Esparragos Verdes a la Plancha-Asparagus $5.50
• Gambas Gardinas- skewered shrimp in beer batter-$7.00

In spring, summer and fall patrons enjoy eating tapas and listening to DJ’s on Friday and Saturday nights. La Tasca’s daily specials include dinner and a movie and unlimited tapas – $20 at lunch and $30 at dinner.
