“I wrote a book on Jan. 21st, 2013, I know this because it is the best day of my life thus far. It was an interesting experience because I was 19 at the time and it was my first book and I love writing but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to become a published writer. It was just like a hobby for me. But, thanks to my parents, I am a published writer.

It was interesting because it is a Portuguese book, it’s a poetry book. It’s called Amores Que Nunca Vivi.

That translates to The Love That I’ve Never Lived.

It’s a collection of poems I wrote when I was in my teens.

It’s been sold on Amazon, which is very exciting to me. I’ve taken some copies to my country from Angola.

Even though I’ve never really thought of becoming a published writer, this experience has been so amazing but I don’t think I’ll be working on other books.

Since then I’ve been published in the Montgomery College, Red Jacket. And also in the Montgomery College magazine from Takoma Park.

I’ve also been published in an anthology of new African poets. It’s a book edited by two editors from Mozambique, it’s a collection of poets from all over Africa.

I’ve also been published in another book from Brazil.

So I’m kinda reaching all these wonderful places that I’ve thought I’d never reach.

(I never really stopped to think about it till now, so thank you for that)

I really hoping that I can start writing for kids because I love working with kids.

I want to do a project with them, it doesn’t really matter where because I feel like I’m a citizen of the world.

But I also wanna work with them meaning they would write or draw. So, I would publish a book by them. It’s just things I think about.

But, I was working on a book that’s gonna be a poetry book for kids and I’m working with a kid to kind of illustrate it.

I really hope this project works out.”
