On Friday Feb. 11, 2011, a full crowd of people gathered anxiously in the student activity center. There were chocolate covered strawberries and valentine decorations on every table. Participants opened pink and red fortune cookies to discover what their “Love Fortunes” were.
For many students, this was a fun way to meet new people and enjoy a great Friday afternoon. The event began with a presentation from Amanda and Matt DeMarco, the “love doctors” of the afternoon. They spoke about the do’s and don’ts of dating and how they met. After this, the speed dating began.
Students grabbed numbers and slips and moved from table to table. Joel Castillo, the head planner of the event said, “The afternoon was great and people really enjoyed it. The speed dating put their skills to the test! I am so proud of everyone’s work to make this event as successful as it was.”
