False ‘Armed Person’ Alert

At 1:03pm today, students and faculty received a MC Alert stating, “Armed person at [insert name] Campus. Go to nearest room and lock door NOW! If off campus, STAY AWAY. Follow instructions from authorities.” Seven minutes later, would they send out another MC Alert saying that the message sent was an error, that there was no threat.

Inna Regmi, a full time student who spends her free time at Montgomery College volunteering in Best Buddies and Impact MC, stated  “I hid under a table and started crying.”

She happened to be located in the Theatre Arts Arena at the time attending the Club Rush Event where hundreds of students were participating. Faculty managed the situation to the best of their ability and effectively kept the students safe and at bay.
