What Good Are You

What+Good+Are+You

What good are you, Sun, if you bring me no heat?
I still bring you light, said he.
I still make your world green,
Or green as can be,
Now you’ve covered the Earth with concrete.

What good are you, Sun, if you shine in my eyes?
What tempts you to blind us so?
I chase out the Dark
So it blinds not your soul,
And remind you each morning to rise.

What good is it to rise in this world full of lies,
Selfishness, men and deceit?
None can right all these wrongs.
Do not expect that of me.
Only know, despite all,
I still lighten your soul,
And come Spring I will warm your cold feet.
