“We have no political understanding now in Venezuela…private companies that were selling basic needs were all closed and moved under government power, there’s no way [to get] basic needs..you’ll have to [be] in line for seven hours to get toilet paper or Colgate. You have to wake up around 4 in the morning, and .. depending on how your ID ends is the day you come in. For example, if your ID ends in 123, you can come on Mondays. So there’s a lot of black market[s] where people will use fake IDs to get into the lines to get the products and sell the products on the streets.”
